Mt. Elden - Sunset Trail to Schultz Creek Trail Loop
This trail has it all. A good aerobic climb, a rewarding scenic view, incredibly diverse single track and lots of speed. Start by taking the Elden Lookout road. Ride up, up, up for 6 miles with about 1,700 feet in elevation gain. Not to worry you will forget all about the climb when you are carving the trail at mach speeds. There is a sign that directs you over to the Sunset Trail. Enjoy the view and check your brakes before beginning the fast catwalk that many call ?Organ Donor?. You'll next find yourself in a thick forest traversing a steep rock garden. There will be a split in the trail around mile 7.5. Follow trail up to the right. After crossing the fire service road it is screaming down hill (watch for hikers and upcoming traffic) towards the Schultz Creek Trailhead. You will cross thru a parking lot where you will find yourself on Schultz Creek Trail heading down the last leg to the parking lot at Elden Lookout Road.
