Trail 305 – Prescott, AZ

by mtbdeb

This trail is not technical but is twisty turny and too much fun. Bring your lungs. If you haven’t had enough climbing yet, cross the road and continue up the Smith Ravine trail, and remember, what goes up must fly down! Also, ride over to the lake and check out the resident bald eagles. The Forest Service has just added a significant section. This increases the trail to seven miles, one way, or fourteen out and back.

Trail Map

This is a great trail. Fun and fast. However, the first time riding it I got a little disoriented and got lost for a couple of hours. I finally found my way back…eventually. Another tip is to help support the Park system and instead of parking at Costco, use the parking at the trailhead and pay the two bucks. It’s an insignificant amount for us but it adds up for the park to keep it clean and the trail maintained. Besides, that $2 is good for the whole day at ALL the parks in the Prescott Nat’l Forest. So once you’re done at 305 then you can try Granite Mtn and Spruce Mtn in the same day and pay nothing!
