White Tank Regional Park Mountain Bike Ride

Had a great mountain bike ride today on the competitive loop out at White Tank Regional Park with Ben and Wyll. The trail is in very good shape. We rode 21 miles which was 3 laps non-stop. It took me about 7 miles to warm up, feeling very sluggish at the beginning. Both of Ben and Wyll are very strong and fast. If you chase those 2 around, it will only make you faster. I… Read More »

Trail 100 – Phoenix Mountain Preserve Mountain Bike Ride

Our Wednesday mountain bike was at Trail 100 this week. Tysen, Ramon and I started our ride at 6:15. The temperature wasn’t that bad, but the humidity was high. The monsoons were all around us, but never quite reaching us. We started at the parking lot on 40th and Shea, leaving the parking lot to the south. Tysen started out at a blistering pace. Ramon and I were suffering while trying to stay on his… Read More »

Hawes Trail Mountain Bike Ride

I met up with Ramon out at Hawes trails today to go for a mountain bike ride. The trail was in good condition, but out was getting hot out there. I don’t think we are going to be able to start rides at 4pm much longer and we definitely need to stay hydrated. It is time to start night riding. I felt pretty strong, even though it was hot.

Trail 100 – Phoenix Mountain Preserves Ride

Went on a short mountain bike ride in the Phoenix Mountain Preserves today with Wil and his friend Chris. It was my first time mountain bike riding with Chris. We parked at the Tatum trail parking lot, took trail 100 to trail 8 and up to Perl Charles 1A. 1A is a great trail. Great singletrack and some good technical sections. We hooked up to the main Trail 100 and bombed down to Dreamy Draw… Read More »

Desert Classic Ride – South Mountain

I had a nice ride on Desert Classic, South Mountain. I started at the Pima Canyon parking lot and rode to Telegraph Pass. I took Lower Corona Loma on the way out and the Double Secret Trail on the way back. One flat tire that tried to ruin my ride. My first official training ride for the Whiskey Off-Road race on April 24th, 2010.

Telegraph Pass Trail – South Mountain Park

Another trail for you “freerider” full suspension bikers. It’s a short 1.5 mile trail from top to bottom strewn with big dropoffs, loose rocks and hairpin turns. Very fun! Once you get to the bottom it is 8 miles to the Pima Canyon parking lot on Desert Classic trail (see description above). This trail is a little tough to get to. You can park at Dobbins lookout and ride the paved road down to it… Read More »

Mormon/National Trails – South Mountain Park

South Mountain Park in Phoenix, Arizona is the largest municipal park in the world. Located in the south end of the valley, it is one of the city’s favorite recreational areas. Many of the trails below can be combined for making a loop or longer rides. Mormon/National trail is one of my favorite trails in the valley. If your looking for a gnarly downhill or tough climb, this is a great, but difficult trail. There… Read More »

Desert Classic Trail – South Mountain Park

A fun 18 mile out and back trail on the south side of South Mountain. This fast and rolling singletrack is for any skill of rider. The easy to modrate riding is mostly singletrack with rocky sections, short climbs and sand washes. On your way out, South Mountain will be on your right while the Chandler suburbs will be to your left. There are many other trails branching off to get sidetracked, but the trail… Read More »
