Desert Classic to Telegraph Pass – South Mountain Park

Amazing! I got to ride my mountain bike in the middle of the day in the middle of the summer. Why? The monsoon rains kept the temperature below 100 degrees. I headed out on Desert Classic in a slight drizzle about 3:30pm, hoping for more days like this during the summer. I decided to test my endurance, since I haven’t been riding to much because of the heat, and I don’t like to get up… Read More »

The Barn Burner is Back On

Time to start training again! As most of you know, the Barn Burner was postponed June 19th, because of the Eagle Rock fire in the Flagstaff area. It has been rescheduled for September 11th, 2010. I’m glad to see that is back on. The tough part is going to be training for the race in Phoenix in the middle of summer. All participants should get an email from the organizers. The email has a link… Read More »

Desert Classic Mountain Bike Ride

Tysen and I went for a mountain bike ride about 6:15pm out at Desert Classic. It was really hot! We started out strong, but the heat got to us at about 6 miles into the ride. We both need to get acclimatized to the heat. It usually takes 2 or 3 rides in the heat for it not to effect you too much. The arriving monsoon really helped out late in the ride. It cooled… Read More »

Tysen and I went mountain biking at Pemberton Trail this morning. This was our last long training ride for the upcoming Barn Burner in Flagstaff this upcoming weekend. I went on a mountain bike ride at Papago Park today with Ramon. I haven’t been on a ride at Papago Park since…I can’t remember. Must be about 8 years or more. Everything is pretty much the same.
